Disability discrimination is a complex yet crucial area of law which all employers will come across at some point. A stigma exists in Asian cultures around disability which, coupled with a lack of awareness from mainstream corporate culture, means that disability is often seen as ‘the forgotten cause’ of DEI priorities.
Join Loïc André from OJ Ability (disability focused recruitment firm – part of Oliver James Group), Faride Shroff from disability NGO SENsational Foundation, employment lawyer Matthew Durham from Gall and Doris Tsui from the Equal Opportunities Commission (EOC) to learn more about:
- Existing barriers faced by people with disabilities (PwDs) in Hong Kong;
- Elevating disability inclusion as a DEI cause on corporate agendas;
- Guidance on how companies can move from good intentions to actual hiring;
- Legal expertise and insight into matters of accessibility, disclosure and discrimination;
- Global best practices in disability employment and what companies in Hong Kong can learn from global benchmarks;
- The EOC’s perspective on how businesses can support employees with disabilities.
