The appointments follow an award-winning 2017 for the leading HK disputes law firm and are supported by three new junior lawyers

Hong Kong-based dispute resolution and litigation specialist law firm Gall is pleased to announce the appointment of two new partners and an additional three lawyers to the firm:

  • Partner Evelyn Chan re-joined the firm in November 2017. Evelyn was previously a partner in the Dispute Resolution Group of a leading Hong Kong independent law firm. Evelyn’s practice focuses on complex civil litigation, with a particular emphasis on PRC related matters.
  • Partner Nick Dealy joined the firm in January 2018 from UBS AG where he held various roles in the Legal team both in London and in Hong Kong. In his recent role as Head of Litigation & Investigations Asia Pacific, Nick was responsible for managing the Litigation teams handling contentious matters impacting UBS in the Asia Pacific region (ex-Japan) including litigation and regulatory investigations, as well as complex internal investigations.
  • Roy Yu joined Gall in November 2017 as a Registered Foreign Lawyer and is an employment and regulatory lawyer. Roy’s experience includes advising both employers and employees on a range of contentious and non-contentious employment issues.
  • Wilson Cheung joined Gall as a paralegal in November 2017. Wilson works across business litigation and employment law as well as regulatory law. Wilson is due to be admitted as a Solicitor in Hong Kong in March 2018.
  • Catherine Tso joined the family and divorce practice at Gall in January 2018 as an associate. Catherine advises on all aspects of family law including divorce, financial claims, child custody claims and nuptial agreements.

Senior Partner Nick Gall comments:

“These appointments demonstrate the strength of our business as we go into 2018, across all our core practices: disputes and litigation, employment law, regulatory, restructuring and insolvency and family and divorce. Each appointment is important to us, as they are all driven by client need.

“Evelyn Chan’s expertise broadens out our civil litigation further into greater China; and she will work closely with our established team. She is very well thought of in the market and is a strong addition to the practice.

“Nick Dealy provides expertise and insight from the client‘s perspective having been in-house for many years. His previous role combined strong litigation experience with investigatory and regulatory expertise; and we will be drawing on that in his new role.

Roy and Wilson can turn their hand to both employment and regulatory advice and guide clients through regulatory investigations, which means they can support all parts of our business.

Catherine Tso joins the family and divorce team led by Caroline McNally, who has built the practice into one of the most highly regarded in Hong Kong.

They are a great addition to our dynamic team in Hong Kong and I am delighted to welcome all five to Gall.”
