Ashima joined Gall in September 2014. She has wide-ranging experience in commercial litigation, arbitration and dispute resolution, focusing on issues involving breach of contract, joint venture and shareholders’ disputes, asset tracing and Mareva injunctions, SFC and ICAC investigations, enforcement of judgments, as well as tort and negligence claims.
Ashima has also handled an array of matters relating to default of payment and commercial fraud, assisting liquidators and creditors in insolvency and bankruptcy matters.
Prior to moving to Hong Kong, Ashima was a practicing lawyer with Bharucha & Partners, a leading dispute resolution firm in India. She has also worked with the Advisory practice at KPMG (India) where she advised global financial institutions and private equity funds on anti-bribery and corruption risks.
Ashima regularly contributes articles in key publications, including the Dispute Resolution Global Guide published by Thomson Reuters and the International Comparative Legal Guide: Corporate Recovery & Insolvency series. In 2021, she was invited to become a member of LAWASIA’s Banking and Finance Committee. In 2021, she was invited to become a member of LAWASIA’s Banking and Finance Committee.
Ashima holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from Indian Law Society’s Law College (ILS) and a Master of Laws degree from University College London (UCL). She has also completed the Company Secretary course from the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI).
Ashima is admitted to practice as a Solicitor in Hong Kong (2017) and as an Advocate in India (2011).
